Karate
Third grade students at SUIS-WY are engaged in a program called Recorder Karate. Just like in the martial arts programs, students earn a differen color belt as they accomplish playing each song.
White Belt - Hot Cross Buns
Yellow - Gently Sleep
Orange - Merrily We Roll Along
Green - It's Raining
Purple - Old MacDonald Had a Farm
Blue - When the Saints Go Marching In
Red - Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star
Brown - Amazing Grace
Black - Ode to Joy
Students are given sheet music for each song as we progress through the school year. We encourage students to practice 10-20 minutes three times each week at home. If you live close to another student why not get together and practice your songs as musician friends. Encouraging students to play music together is one of the focus goals at SUIS-WY.
